For two decades, Janell Shiers has called The Center for Spiritual Living “home.” She started attending services in 1998 and began volunteering twice per month in the Youth Program in 2004, shortly after the birth of her daughter, Sarah.
Janell, who holds a Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, has worked in the various hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, as well as in private practice. She also was the director of a rehabilitation unit in a skilled nursing facility. She also spent time working in mental health software consulting, a position that allowed her to work from home.
When she was recruited to work full-time at CSL, first as Assistant Youth Director—a position she held from June 2014 through June 2015—Janell jumped at the chance to contribute to the organization she loves. In 2015, she was promoted to Youth Program Director, where she continues to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the youth in her programs.
